The polycobo is a plant perennial, native and herbaceous (its height ranges from 10cm to 40cm). It is hairy, gray and aromatic. It grows in uncultivated places and only in sunny places. The leaves have a length from 3 to 8 mm. The polycobo is known due to its flavoring properties. Dioscorides, Aetius and later Nicholas Myrepsos had given healing properties to the plant.
