Cumin is an herbaceous annual plant with height 15-30cm., dark green pointed leaves and small white or pink flowers. Cumin was already known in the Bible. The Egyptians, Greeks, Romans appreciated it as a culinary and medical plant. In ancient Europe cumin was widely used until it was replaced by pepper. As for the cooking in Indian, Arabic and Mexican cuisines cumin is an essential component.
