The mountain tea plant is used widely in the Mediterranean countries, as in Greece as a decoction(tea). The genus includes about 80 species which are growed in the around mediterranean countries, the Canary Islands and North Asia. These are annual or perennial herbs which are delignified sometimes at the base. They have small, yellow or white flowers and they belong to the family of Labiatae. In the Mediterranean, the drink of these plants is very popular and widespread. They are used also different self-planted species in folk healing, especially for long-term treatment of inflammatory conditions.
