Description
Myrrh is an aromatic natural resin which comes from the tree with the scientific name Styrax Benzoin. Its use for religious reasons is known from ancient times. But it has been known widely since trade routes opened to the island complexes in Southeast Asia and Polynesia, during the great explorations. It is known and loved by all the Orthodox peoples of the Balkans, Asia Minor and Russia. The Myrrh is burned full in censer or is used in mixtures for specific incenses.
