The Ivy is a well- known plant to almost the entire world. Beloved in Greece but forbidden (due to the influence on the local flora) in many parts of Australia and the USA. The ivy has been used for therapeutic purposes since ancient times. The leaves and the fruits are the most useful parts of the plant. In modern herbal medicine ivy's leaves are used to treat respiratory problems. It is found that the ivy has anticonvulsant activity SO the consumption is particularly useful in cases of cough, bronchitis and asthma.
