The horsetail exists throughout Europe. We find it in crops and edges of roads, in stony and dry soils. It is a herbaceous, perennial plant with height that can reach 60 cm. The horsetail acts as an astringent, hemostatic, diuretic, tonic and healing tissues and it helps on the absorption of calcium. It is considered as a special curative in cases of inflammation and is used against osteoporosis, disorders of the lungs and kidneys, inflammation of the urinary tract, ear pain and skin disorders.
