The barberry is a twiggy sapling and reaches up to 3m. height. We find it rarely in Greece, it grows near forests, fences and can be grown in all soils but especially in soils that retain moisture. The leaves of barberry have sour taste and are used against scurvy with tea (infusion). The lemonade which is made by the juice of barberry is recommended for inflammatory fevers and for diseases of the breast.
