The yarrow or chiliofyllo belongs to the family of composite and originates from Europe. It's a self-planted, aromatic plant with gray-green leaves. The color of the flowers varies from white to pink, it blossoms the summer and the height reaches up to 60 cm. Flowers and fresh shoots are main parts of the plant and its taste is bitter. The yarrow is one of the best sweating and febrifugal herbs. It has tonic, sedative, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps on reduce of the high blood pressure stimulating blood vessels. Also, it helps on digestion problems and stomach ulcers, bowel, bile or in cases of anorexia. It is also recommended for the treatment of amenorrhea, for internal bleeding hemorrhoids, abscesses and as antiseptic of urinary system.
