The woodruff is a perennial plant that reaches up to 30 cm. height and its leaves are divided into six parts. The flowers are white, star-shaped and appear in late spring. Main component of woodruff is the coumarin which exists in great quantity and is hypnotic. The woodruff exists as self-planted in Thessaly and in northern Greece in forested regions.
