The artichoke is a perennial vegetable of the family of Asteroids. It is grown in shape of shrub with height of about 1.5 m. It is a native plant of Africa. However, it is cultivated in many regions of world in places which are sheltered from cold and territories without much moisture. It is an excellent vegetable for its dietary properties. It is still a valuable medicine. The components of the artichoke are diuretics and still have an excellent ability to remove cholesterol from the blood.
